Locally, the Mid America Workforce Investment Board oversees a network of 7 One Stop sites.
One Stop Centers are part of a large innovative, customer-driven system designed by the state of Illinois to provide employment & training services to job seekers, employers, & students through visiting only one location.
The Department of Labor oversees the operation of the One Stop System and serves a coordinating role with MAWIB and other state, national and community agencies for its success. Mandated partner agencies come together to distribute the Workforce Investment Act funding within set WIA parameters
The local Youth Council is a team of community leaders responsible for developing coordinated youth policy, high quality programs, & enhancing youth connections & access to the One Stop System
One Stop Service Centers bring together the employment, education, and training services of multiple agencies under one roof
Affiliate Centers feature resource rooms, co-location of one or more partner agencies, and access, through information and referrals, to other area employment and training services appropriate to needs.
